What does the 7-in-1 bundle test for?
Chlamydia and gonorrhoea are bacterial infections that often cause no symptoms. Both can be cured with antibiotics.
HIV is a virus that affects the immune system. It can’t be cured, but treatment is highly effective.
Syphilis is a bacterial infection that can cause a painless sore or rash, or no symptoms at all. It can be cured with antibiotics.
Herpes (HSV-2) is the most common cause of genital herpes. It can’t be cured, but outbreaks can be treated with antiviral medicine.
Hepatitis B and C are viruses that affect the liver. Many adults clear hepatitis B on their own, and hepatitis C can usually be cured with antiviral tablets.
Is this for you?
You don’t need to have symptoms to test. All seven infections can cause no noticeable symptoms.

- You want a full check for seven infections in one go
- You’d rather test privately at home

Test privately
Everything you need to test for seven infections at home:
- Results in 15 minutes
- 1 swab and 4 finger-prick tests
- Discreet packaging
- No clinic visit
How do the tests work?
Your bundle has five tests. The chlamydia and gonorrhoea test looks for bacteria in a swab sample. The other four use a small finger-prick blood sample: the HIV, syphilis and herpes tests look for antibodies, and the hepatitis B and C test looks for the hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C antibodies.
Each result appears on its own test cassette in around 15 minutes, with no sample to send to a laboratory.
Take your swab
Take the swab for the chlamydia and gonorrhoea test, mix it in the sample tube with the two diluents, then add 3 drops to each sample well on that cassette.
Prick your finger
Clean your fingertip with an alcohol pad and use a lancet to prick it. Add your blood and sample diluent to each of the four blood test cassettes, as each test’s instructions show.
Read your results
Read each test at 15 minutes. Don’t read the herpes test after 30 minutes, or the others after 20 minutes, as the results may no longer be reliable.
When should I test?
You can take the tests at any time, but each infection takes a different time to show. If a result is negative, test again at 2 weeks for chlamydia and gonorrhoea, 12 weeks for HIV, syphilis, herpes and hepatitis B, and 6 months for hepatitis C. If it’s been less than 72 hours since you may have been exposed to HIV, contact a sexual health clinic or A&E today and ask about PEP.
No need to pin down the date. Two tests and you can stop wondering.
This runs on your device. The date never leaves it: we don’t see it, store it or send it anywhere.
Understanding your result
Read each test separately. On every cassette, C is the control line and T is the test line.
Two tests have two windows: chlamydia and gonorrhoea, and hepatitis B and C. Read each window on its own.
Negative
One line at C only. That infection was not detected.
Positive
Lines at C and T, even if the T line is faint. That infection was detected.
Invalid
No line at C. The test has not worked. Contact us and we’ll help.
Good to know
Each test is designed for screening and doesn’t replace advice from a doctor or nurse. For ages 16 and over.

When should I take the tests?
You can take the tests at any time. After a recent exposure, though, each infection takes a different time to show. If you get a negative result, test again 2 weeks after your most recent exposure for chlamydia and gonorrhoea, 12 weeks after for HIV, syphilis, herpes and hepatitis B, and 6 months after for hepatitis C.
Do I have to take all the tests at once?
No. Each test is separate, so you can take them together or at different times. If it’s been less than 12 weeks since sex, you could take the chlamydia and gonorrhoea test now and the blood tests later.
It’s been less than 72 hours since I may have been exposed to HIV. What should I do?
Contact a sexual health clinic or A&E today and ask about PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis). PEP can help stop HIV infection, and it works best the sooner it’s started. You can test with this kit later, once enough time has passed.
How reliable are these rapid tests?
When used correctly, each test provides a reliable way to check for infection at home. In clinical evaluations, 99.81% of syphilis results matched laboratory testing, 100% of chlamydia and gonorrhoea results and over 98% of herpes results matched other commercially available tests.
Testing too soon after exposure can affect your result, so an early negative may need to be repeated. These are screening tests, so a positive result should be followed up with a sexual health clinic.
What if a result is positive?
Contact a sexual health clinic or your GP for further testing and treatment if needed. Chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis can be cured with antibiotics, HIV treatment is highly effective, herpes outbreaks can be treated, and hepatitis can be treated or cleared. NHS sexual health services are free and confidential.
I’ve had syphilis or herpes before. Can I use this bundle?
Yes, but those tests may still show a positive result. Syphilis antibodies can remain after successful treatment, and the herpes test can show positive when the virus becomes active again. The other tests aren’t affected. Speak to a sexual health clinic if you’re unsure.
I’ve been vaccinated against hepatitis B. Will it show positive?
No. The hepatitis B vaccine doesn’t cause a positive result, because the test looks for the virus itself, not for the protection the vaccine gives you.
Does the swab test check the throat or bottom?
No. The chlamydia and gonorrhoea test only checks a swab from the cervix or the urethra. If you’ve had oral or anal sex, speak to a sexual health clinic about testing those areas.
Can I use this bundle while pregnant?
If you’re pregnant and concerned about STIs, speak to your midwife, GP or a sexual health clinic. HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B testing is routinely offered during pregnancy through the NHS.
How fast is shipping?
Your test ships within 1 working day by free Royal Mail Tracked 48.
Will anyone know what I ordered?
No. Your order arrives in plain, discreet packaging, with nothing on the outside to reveal what’s inside. Your bank statement will also not show “Test Discreet” or the name of the test.
Can I return my test?
You can return unopened kits within 14 days of delivery. For health and hygiene reasons, we can’t take a kit back once its seal is broken.
If there’s a problem with your order or your test arrives damaged, contact us and we’ll help.
